Elite Athletes will finish the workout by overhead lunging with the same barbell back to the start line. Time will be called when the Elite Athlete is standing tall with barbell locked out on the finishing mat.

[/accordion] [accordion title=”Movement Standards”]

  • Front Rack Lunge: The movement begins with the barbell on the athlete’s shoulders. Hands do not have to be touching the bar. The Lunge will start with the athlete stepping forward, at the bottom of the movement the knee must make contact with the ground. The movement completes with the athlete standing tall, barbell on shoulder throughout the entire movement. Athletes do not have to bring both feet together or use alternating steps as they move toward the goal line. Stutter stepping will not be allowed

At the top, the barbell must come to full lockout overhead with the hips, knees and arms fully extended, and the bar directly over the middle of the body. Each rep will be counted once the Athlete clearly shows control of the barbell overhead. Pressing out the arms at the top to complete the movement is allowed as long as the barbell does not touch the shoulders or head. Muscle, power, split, and/or full squat snatch is permitted. If split snatching, the feet must be brought together before the rep can be counted (with all other movement standards in place). A knee (or knees) touching the ground during the lift is an automatic no-rep.
  • Overhead Lunge: The bar must be locked out overhead before the athlete may begin the movement. The Lunge will start with the athlete stepping forward, at the bottom of the movement the knee must make contact with the ground. The movement completes with the athlete standing tall, remaining locked out overhead throughout the movement. Athletes do not have to bring both feet together or use alternating steps as they move toward the goal line. Stutter stepping will not be allowed

Event 2

  • “Hangman”
  • Video Movement Demo
  • Rx & Scaled Divisions – 4min AMWAP
  • F | F then M | M pairs perform:
    • 2min of barbell hang to overhead
    • Each pair selects one weight to use
    • Weights cannot be changed
    • Barbell may not touch ground
    • Team may hold bar during transitions
  • Equipment Provided:
    • 1 – mens bar
    • 1 – womens bar
    • 2 – 45# plates
    • 4 – 25# plates
    • 4 – 10# plates

[accordions][/accordion] [accordion title=”Details”]

  • Before this event begins, each female and male pair must declare the weight they will use for the hang to overhead movement to their judge. Once declared, the weight cannot be changed. Teams may load bars once weights are declared.
  • At the call of “3-2-1-Go!” the first member of the female pair will pick up the bar to begin hang to overhead movements. Once the barbell is lifted, it may not touch the ground until their 2 minutes have expired. If the bar touches the ground within that 2 minute time period, any reps accumulated will be erased and must start again from 0. One athlete works at a time. Members of the female pair may switch at anytime. Pairs may pass the bar to one another or have their male team members hold the bar during transitions. Each athlete of the pair must perform at least 1 rep to register a score.
  • At the 2 minute mark, “3-2-1-Transition!” will be called. At this point, the females working may drop their bar and the males may lift their bar to begin working hang to overhead. The same “no-dropping” rule applies during the male’s 2 minute period. The same passing of the barbell allowances also apply.
  • The team’s score will be the total amount of weight moved from hang to overhead

[/accordion] [accordion title=”Movement Standards”]

  • Hang to Overhead: Each repetition of this barbell movement begins with the weight above the knee and ends with the barbell directly over the head with arms locked out and hips and knees fully extended. The athlete may use any combination of lifts to achieve these standards, including all variations of the snatch, clean, and jerk. Teammates may assist in keeping the bar from touching the ground during the event but may not assist any athlete in moving the bar from hang to overhead to establish a rep.
