Basics
  • Each Athlete will be required to complete the couplet, one after the other, without teammate assistance, followed by a team burden run.
  • Before the start, Athlete A may begin with their jump rope on the start mat with teammates under the pull-up rig.
  • At the call of “3, 2, 1, Go!,” Athlete A performs jump rope reps as prescribed by their division.
  • When completed, Athlete A will drop their rope, pick-up and bear-hug their sandbag and perform 20 squats.
  • When completed, Athlete A will drop the sandbag, run under the pull-up rig and tag Athlete B in to perform the same couplet, followed by Athlete C.
  • When Athlete C has finished their couplet, the entire team must perform a burden run with their sandbag (see 'details' section below).
  • Time is called when the entire team returns to the finish mat with the sandbag.

Details
  • During the couplet, Athlete A must complete all prescribed work before other teammates may begin, and so on.
  • During the squats, the sandbag must be held in the frontal plane against the chest at all times when acquiring reps.
  • During the run, the sandbag must be carried at all times. There is no minimum work requirement for any particular athlete carrying the sandbag during the run. Multiple teammates can touch/assist carrying the sandbag at one time or a single athlete can carry the load for any given amount of time/distance. Examples:
    • Teams of 3: Athlete A carries the sandbag on their left shoulder for 150m. Athlete B then carries for 100m in a bear hug. Athlete C then finishes the run with the sandbag under their right arm.
    • Teams of 2: Athlete A holds the sandbag on their right shoulder. Athlete B carries part of the load by holding the sandbag on their left shoulder. The teammates run together the entire 600m.
  • MIX division:
    • During the squats, athletes will use the appropriate sandbag based on their gender (males: 100#; females: 60#)
    • During the burden run, teams will be required to carry both sandbags (1 x 100#; 1 x 60#)

Scoring
  • The event will be scored by elapsed time when all teammates plus the sandbag arrive on the finish mat
  • Teams that do not complete the work under the time cap will be scored by reps:
    • 1 rep per jump rope movement completed
    • 1 rep per sandbag squat completed
    • 1 rep for the team burden run
  • No partial reps will be given for an incomplete run.

  • Double Under: This is the standard double-under in which the rope passes under the feet twice for each jump. The rope must spin forward for the rep to count. Only successful jumps are counted, not attempts. All divisions must bring their own jump rope.
  • Single Under (Beginner): The rope passes under the athlete’s feet once per jump and must also spin forward for the rep to count. Only successful jumps are counted, not attempts. All divisions must bring their own jump rope.
  • Sandbag Squat: The athlete begins with the sandbag on the frontal plane of the body, hugging the bag to their chest while standing tall. At the bottom, the crease of the hip must pass below the top of the knee. At the top, the knees and hips must be completely open.
  • Sandbag Burden Run: Teammates must run with a single sandbag (MIX division must run with 2 sandbags) on the prescribed course. No minimum work requirement for any particular athlete. One athlete may carry the sandbag the entire time, teammates may swap the load on several occasions, multiple athletes may share the burden simultaneously, or any combination of the above. When the sandbag is not being carried (i.e. an Athlete dropped it), all running must stop until the sandbag has been picked up by a team member. Time is called on the event when all teammates plus the sandbag have returned to the finish mat.
9 MINUTE AMRAP
  • Barbell may not touch the ground for the entire event
  • Please visit the details section for full event rules

  • 21' Front Rack Lunge
  • 12 Hang to Overhead
  • 21' Front Rack Reverse Lunge

Weights:
  • ADV: 135 / 95
  • INT: 95 / 65
  • MIX: 95 / 65
  • BEG: 65
  • MAS: 95 / 65

Basics
  • The athlete that starts a round of work must finish it without teammate assistance.
  • Teams start behind the near mat
  • At the call of “3, 2, 1, Go!,” Athlete A steps to the near mat, pick up the barbell and performs all reps of the round, starting with the lunge to the far mat, onto the hang to overhead reps also on the far mat, and finishes with a reverse lunge from far mat to near mat.
  • When Athlete A finishes, Athlete B will complete one full round of work while his/her teammates are back behind the near mat, followed by Athlete C, and so on.
  • This sequence will continue until the 9 minute time cap has elapsed.
  • Between rounds only, teammates may assist each other getting the barbell into position (see 'details' section below).

Details
  • Once the bar is lifted, it may not return to the ground until the event is over.
  • Penalty: If the barbell is dropped, the reps gained for that particular round go to 0 and the working athlete must start from the beginning. To restart:
    1. The athlete rolls the bar back to the starting mat.
    2. All teammates must complete 5 team bar facing burpees.
    3. Now the athlete that dropped the bar may restart the round. Teammates may not assist.
  • Teammates may assist in keeping the bar off the ground between rounds only. Examples:
    • Teams of 3: Athlete A completes a round and is back on near mat with bar. Athletes B and C may now come to assist. Athlete A holds the left collar of the barbell and Athlete B holds the right while Athlete C positions the bar in the front rack to begin lunging into their round of work.
    • Teams of 2: Athlete A completes a round and is back on near mat with bar. Athlete B approaches the near mat. Athlete A pops the barbell from the front rack to the back rack and slowly hands the bar to their teammate's front rack. Once the bar has been transferred, A helps get the bar in comfortable position for B. Athlete B begins lunging into their round of work.
  • MIX division teams will share one barbell, loaded with 65# and have additional weights at their lane. Females will complete rounds of work using 65#. Males will complete rounds using 95#. It is the responsibility of the team to properly load and unload the bar to its proper weight based on the gender of the active athlete. Clips must be secured to either side before starting a round of work.

Scoring
  • The event will be scored by the total number of reps accumulated within the 9 minute time cap.
  • Each round can earn a maximum of 14 reps:
    • 1 rep for 21' lunge
    • 12 hang to overhead reps
    • 1 rep for 21' reverse lunge
  • Penalty burpees are not counted toward team scores

  • Front Rack Lunge: The movement begins with the athlete’s feet on the near mat with barbell resting on the front of the shoulders. Forward motion will only be allowed. On each lunge, the trailing knee must make contact with the ground at the bottom. At the top of each step, the athlete must stand with the hips and knees fully extended. If the knee does not touch the ground, or if the next step is initiated before fully standing up, the barbell will need to be brought backward to where the previous rep began. Athletes finish their 21ft section when both feet are on the far mat while standing tall with hips and knees fully extended.
  • Hang to Overhead: Each repetition of this barbell movement begins with the weight above the knee and ends with the barbell directly overhead with arms locked out and hips and knees fully extended. The athlete may use any combination of lifts to achieve these standards, including all variations of the snatch, clean, and jerk.
  • Front Rack Reverse Lunge: The movement begins with the athlete’s feet on the far mat with barbell resting on the front of the shoulders. Backward motion will only be allowed. Athletes finish their 21ft section when both feet are on the near mat - where the athlete started their round - while standing tall with hips and knees fully extended.
  • Team Bar Facing Burpee (penalty movement - see the details section for more): All three athletes will perform burpees together perpendicular to and facing the barbell. The trio must hold the bottom position together with their chests and thighs touching the ground. They must then jump over the barbell with a two-foot takeoff and finish with a two-foot landing. One-footed jumping, landing or stepping over is not permitted.

Basics
  • Teams begin on the start mat
  • At the call of “3, 2, 1, Go!,” Teams take their sandbag to the pull-up rig and begin performing Sandbag Squat Clean & Toss Overs.
  • When the team has completed their first set of toss overs, the team moves onto the synchro pull-up movement performed by a pair.
  • When the team has completed their first set of synchro pull-up movements, they move onto the next set of the couplet, and so on, until all reps are completed.
  • Time is called when all reps are completed and the entire team is back on the start mat with sandbag.

Details
  • Sandbag Squat Clean & Toss Over (please see more at the 'movement standards' tab):
    • The entire team may be on either side of their lane's pull-up bar to perform reps
    • One athlete must perform an entire rep on their own without teammate assistance
    • Athletes can do consecutive reps if they wish, but most teams will likely have Athlete A perform a rep, then B, then C to maximize work to rest
  • Synchro pull-up movements (please see more at the 'movement standards' tab):
    • Two athletes work at once to achieve reps
    • Athletes can switch at anytime or the pair can perform every rep if they wish
  • MIX division teams will be given 2 sandbags (one at 50#; one at 25#) at their starting mat. Athletes perform sandbag toss overs with the appropriate sandbag (males: 50#; females: 25#). Upon finishing the workout, both sandbags must be brought back to the starting mat in order for time to be called.

Scoring
  • The event will be scored by elapsed time when all teammates plus the sandbag arrive on the start mat
  • Teams that do not complete the work under the time cap will be scored by reps (one rep per movement)

  • Sandbag Squat Clean & Toss Over: Each repetition is performed by a single athlete and a Brute Force Athlete Bag (males 50#; females 25#). The movement begins with the sandbag on the ground. The bag is taken from the ground with a squat (hip crease below top of knee) and tossed over the team's designated pull-up bar. Athletes will typically use a thruster or squat clean and shoulder to overhead technique to get the bag over the bar. The rep is counted when the bag lands on the other side of the pull-up bar. Pull-up bars will be set to Regionals standards (males: 92"; females; 88").
  • Synchronized Chest to Bar Pull-up: Two Athletes must begin with, or pass through, a hang below the bar with arms fully extended and the feet off the ground. The movement finishes with the chest of both teammates touching the pull-up bar. The arms and hips must be fully extended at the bottom, and the feet must be brought back under the hips before beginning the next rep.
  • Synchronized Toes to Bar: Two Athletes must begin with, or pass through, a hang below the bar with arms fully extended and the feet off the ground. The movement finishes with the toes of both teammates touching the pull-up bar. Both sets of feet must be in contact with the bar at the same time, inside the hands, for the rep to count. The arms and hips must be fully extended at the bottom, and the feet must be brought back under the hips before beginning the next rep.
  • Synchronized Knees to Arms: Two Athletes must begin with, or pass through, a hang below the bar with arms fully extended and the feet off the ground. The movement finishes with the knees of both teammates making contact with their own arms (e.g. Athlete A knees to Athlete A arms, B to B) at the same time for the rep to count. The arms and hips must be fully extended at the bottom, and the feet must be brought back under the hips before beginning the next rep.
